IMAN WARDINGARRI

We aim to enable IMAN native title holders and their community to reach their full potential, with quality programs, projects, positive relationships, and empowerment.

Wardingarri is the Aboriginal name for the Dawson River, which winds through five towns in the area of the Western Downs. The IMAN Wardingarri Corporation values and respects IMAN people’s inherent native title rights, cultural values, spiritual beliefs and living relationship with country.

What We Live By

Our decisions and actions are guided by respect and acknowledgment of the people and places on our country, whilst considering at all times the needs of others, and our IMAN people.

  • Respect
  • Honesty
  • Courage
  • Integrity

Wardingarri Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) is incorporated under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island) Act 2006 (Commonwealth). The Wardingarri PBC is managed by traditional owners, elders, and local community members. We have achieved native title determination and currently provide charitable trust programs to our members.

We primarily offer cultural heritage services, located on IMAN people’s country, as well as providing ongoing support for IMAN members in other areas. Looking forward, we have implemented strong guiding measures to assist us with the future work that we will respectfully undertake on behalf of our IMAN people.
